I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Infrared Group at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE), Germany.
I recently obtained my PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) at MPE under the supervision of Natascha Förster Schreiber, Reinhard Genzel, and Linda Tacconi. My thesis focused on the kinematics and metal abundances of star‑forming galaxies in the post‑reionisation era (z~4–6), exploiting instruments such as ALMA and JWST, as part of the CRISTAL and ALPINE-CRISTAL teams.
My interests also extend to the cosmic noon epoch, bridging the evolution of gas dynamics and chemical enrichment across cosmic time. I am a member of GALPHYS, a multi-year ERIS/VLT GTO program.
I completed my BSc and MPhil. at the University of Hong Kong, where I investigated star formation in brightest cluster galaxies (BCGs) and explored the observational signatures of fuzzy dark matter in strongly‑lensed systems.
My name in traditional Chinese is 李麗儀. Lilian Lee is my name for work.
